the high cost of parenting

In the discussion about the child tax credits that were recently vetoed by Governor Pataki, many child-associated costs were discussed.  One of the costs that was not mentioned, however, reared its ugly head today.  Like a typical guy, I finished Easter shopping just this evening.

I spent $27.99 on CARDS.

I need to get some stock in Hallmark.
